PROPOSAL

1.1   INTRODUCTION

Accounting is so persuasive, and the understanding of its usefulness is desirable. It has been called the: language of business”. The history of accounting is an internal one, the double entry book-keeping concept which is generally regarded as the genesis of accounting comes from the Italian city state of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries; after Italian fashion it then migrated to Germany. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries double entry accounting idea reached further attention and development yet is serving people and organization internationally

1.2   STATEMENT OF RESEARCH PROBLEM 

An accounting information system is designed to use for recording the financial transaction. Information is entered, processed, stored and distributed through this system.

At the end of every accounting year, a steward report is given to the shareholder inform of financial statement to know the position of their investment. Thus, information system are usually computerized  because of this, there is always a risk of losing information  through power outage or system crashes, when this happens there is  possibility of losing all or some information.

1.3   OBJECTIVE OF STUDY

This study represents an attempt to isolate those aspect of accounting information and job performance which subordinate perceive as operative with Mainstreet bank management.

1.4   SCOPE OF STUDY

This study is limited to the year range of 2011 to 2012, Mainstreet bank was issued license in the year 2011. A case study of main street bank united Ilorin, Kwara state branch is going to be the center focus.

1.5   METHODOLOGY

This part examines the various method that are employed for the purpose of the strictly. Research method is a scientifically development and organized programme which direct and guide the research in the conduct of this research.

1.6   SOURCE OF DATA COLLECTION

Secondary data will be used throughout the writing of the project and they are through the means of internet and consulting, feeding of textbooks, journals and some seminar paper presented during one period.

1.7   METHOD OF DATA ANALYSIS

Predictive method will be used; analyzing current historical fact to make predication about future event.

1.8   DEFINITION OF TERMS

  1. Financial statement: they are report that summarizes the business transaction of a specific time or period usually a year and it shows the financial position of the business.
  2. Assets: are economic resources which are owned by a business and expected to benefit future operation.
  3. Balance sheet: it shows the financial position of the business at a particular data of transaction i.e a statement of the assets, liabilities, and capital of a business at a particular point in time.
  4. Liabilities: they are debts or obligation which the business owned and is expected to payback at a given period.
  5. Industries: an economic sector which is concerned with the processing of raw material and manufacture of good to finish goods for the consumption of the consumer.

PLAN OF STUDY

This project is divided into five (5) chapters

Chapter one deals with introduction background of the study, statement of the research problems, objective of study, significance of study, scope and limitation, plan of the study  and definition of terms.

Chapter two will examine literature review, relevant and related book to be observed.

Chapter three deals with methodology, method of data collection method of data analysis and research design.

Chapter four includes data presentation and analysis

Chapter five which will be the last chapter deals with summary. Conclusion and recommendations.

Question: Does the present accounting information in banking industry improve the profitability determination?

Ho: The present accounting information in banking industry has improved the profitability determination.

Hi: The present accounting information in banking industry have not improved the profitability determination

  2. To identify the type of accounting information styles that can lead to higher job performance.
  • To provide basis for improving on the job performance of accounting information.

1.3      RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS

Question: does the present accounting information in the banking industry improve the profitability determination?

1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The project will identify the roles of accounting over the year; it will create awareness in mind of the user and enlighten them on the uses of  accounting information generated from financial transaction carried out in the banking industry for making various position as shareholder, potential investors customer etc

1.5 SCOPE AND LIMITATION
