CHAPTER ONE

1.0                                                       INTRODUCTION

  • Background Information to the Study

Use of audio visual equipment has become an integral part of education in the modern world. The wide range of technology available in the audio visual space has applications in all areas of educational system. Use of the latest audio visual technology is required to make a favorable impression on students, tutors and institutions (Cugnini, 2020).

To a great extent, the success of any institution depends on its ability to connect well with its students and teachers. The audio-visual equipmentfacilitate proper communication, which is critical for both students and school management (Cugnini, 2020).

Apart from educational system, audio-visual equipment also findextensive use in other field of life such as in business world. The audio visual technology allows businesses to convey information about the products and services in a manner that creates a good and lasting impression on the minds of the clients. It also helps improve sales by lending more conviction to the sales pitches.

Even in difficult situations, such as when you get a chance to make a presentation before an important prospective client without much time preparation, the audio visual equipment can cometo your rescue. You can play a pre-recorded presentation interspersed with brief discussions to givea convincing and comprehensive overview of your offerings. This is just one of the many situations where audio visual equipment can have an impactful role in your business.

In a department conference room, It is a well-known fact that a presentation is incomplete without a good set of slides or visuals, which are important to hold the attention of your audience(Cugnini, 2020).

Now, imagine, without your projector, projection screen none of this would be possible and you will be reduced to giving a monologue, which can often get people to doze off. Similarly, good speakers and microphones are critical for seminars and conferences where participants run in to hundreds. It is beyond doubt that without the help of audio visual equipment, it will be impossible for you to make a good presentation that will help you to get noticed in short time.

With increasing globalization, video conferencing and voice conferencing have become indispensable for any institution that wishes to run their school in the international arena. Here again you will need quality audio visual equipment to be able to carry out these long distance virtual lectures effectively and without disruption.

Audio visual equipment play an important role in internal operations also. You need them for all kinds of training, meetings and presentations. They increase the effectiveness of communication several folds, which in turn translates into more efficient operations (Salmon et al., 2022).

The modern range of audio visual equipment is being designed to match the needs and demands of today’s fast paced business world. These equipment are getting sleeker, smarter and more functional (Salmon et al., 2022).

Audio visual equipment is central to any institution as they help in smooth flow of information, thoughts and knowledge. Without the latest audio visual equipment, you are sure to lag behind your competitors who will have the advantage of cutting edge communication technology.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

Now, imagine, without your projector, projection screen none of this would be possible and you will be reduced to giving a monologue, which can often get people to doze off. Similarly, good speakers and microphones are critical for seminars and conferences where participants run in to hundreds. It is beyond doubt that without the help of audio visual equipment, it will be impossible for you to make a good presentation that will help you to get noticed in short time

Audio visual equipment play an important role in internal operations also. You need them for all kinds of training, meetings and presentations. They increase the effectiveness of communication several folds, which in turn translates into more efficient operations. This study covers the design and construction of an audio – visual system for the electrical electronics department conference room

  • Significance of the Project

Using audio – visual system in electrical electronics conference room is a way of ensuring quality audio and information display system for an effective communication and presentation.

Setting up audio – visual system for Video conferencing is one of the most effective and efficient ways for department to communicate. It saves institution a huge amount on travel costs, promotes face-to-face interactions, and increases productivity. Video conferencing enhances collaboration by, making participants feel as though they are in the same room(Salmon et al., 2022).

Properly setting up a meeting room with the right AV equipment enhances engagement, participation, and comprehension for in-person and remote attendees. Investing in quality technology improves meeting productivity and maximizes your discussion time. With some planning and creativity, you can use AV equipment to make your meetings more efficient and impactful.

  • Objectives of the Study

The main objective of this work is to setup an audio visual system for the electrical electronics department conference room.

Other objectives are:

  1. To have a complete audio visual system setup for the electrical electronics department conference room
  2. To improve meeting productivity and maximizes your discussion time.
  3. To allow communication between devices such as cameras and sound systems.
  4. To makes the students remember the concept for longer period of time and also to experience things virtually or vicariously
    • Scope of the Project

Audio-visual (AV) systems in electrical electronics will  help in making lectures, meetings, and discussions more interactive and engaging, which raises the involvement and efficient communication percentage. Audio-visual (AV) control systems are audio-visual systems that allow communication between devices such as cameras and sound systems. As the heart and brain of a group of communication hardware and software, Audio-visual (AV) systems can include a variety of hardware, including video cameras, projector, sound system (amplifier) and interactive whiteboards.

  • Limitation of the Study

There are different types or setup of audio – visual system butour audio – visual system setup is limited to equipment such as large display screen, Audio Amplifier, lighting device, recording equipment, cameras, microphones and speakers allow for hybrid meetings with both in-person and remote attendees. High-quality AV components ensure everyone can see and hear each other clearly.

1.7 Definition of Terms

Control panels: The control panels for the audio-visual equipment are located on the East side of the room, on either side of the room divider. The HDMI input plates can be found just below the control panels.

Input: Input accept devices such as laptop or other device that does not have an HDMI output.

Accessories: Accessories includes microphones, remotes, keyboards, mice, and other presentation devices.

Closet: storage closet contains equipment racks for our audio-visual equipment.

Dante – Digital Audio Network Through Ethernet is a combination of software, hardware, and network protocols that deliver uncompressed, multi-channel, low-latency digital audio over a standard Ethernet network using Layer 3 IP packets • DSP – Digital Sound Processor, a microprocessor that is dedicated to receiving the signal from the source and then routing it to an amplifier.

HDBaseT – Promoted by the HDBaseT Alliance, consumer electronic (CE) and commercial connectivity standard for transmission of uncompressed high-definition video (HD), audio, power, home networking, Ethernet, USB, and some control signals, over a common category cable (Cat5e or above) using the same 8P8C modular connectors used by Ethernet

HDCP – High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection is a form of digital copy protection developed by Intel Corporation to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections

HDMI – High-Definition Multimedia Interface, a proprietary audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed video data and compressed or uncompressed digital audio data from an HDMI compliant source device, such as a display controller, to a compatible computer monitor, video projector, digital television, or digital audio device.

CHAPTER FIVE

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

5.1 Conclusion
The world of audio visual systems is diverse, encompassing everything from modest home TV setups to massive stadium deployments. Whether your goal is immersive movies at home or presenting to a crowd, AV systems integrate displays, projectors, screens, speakers, mics and various sources into a cohesive experience. With a structured plan and quality components suited to the application, even the most elaborate AV system can deliver exceptional results. The technology available today makes it possible to craft truly customization environments where audio, video and automation work in unison.

Recommendations

When planning an audio visual system install, there are some key factors to consider:

  • Room Size and Layout – The dimensions, seating style and acoustics of the space impact AV choices.
  • Display Type and Size – Screen size and display technology (projector, TV, video wall) affects positioning and content visibility.
  • Audio Needs – The room’s purpose determines if basic stereo or immersive surround sound is needed.

Taking the time to carefully plan your AV system for your specific space and needs pays dividends in the long run with better performance, flexibility and longevity.
